The Blackhawks’ nine-game skid is over as they defeat the Rangers 4-2.
The Blackhawks' four-goal outburst within the first 10 minutes of the first period was enough for them to hold on for a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday.
Jonathan Toews, Nick Leddy, Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa each scored in a span of 9:38 to put the game out of reach for good. It was Chicago's first win during February. The Blackhawks' last win came Jan. 20. Corey Crawford earned his first win since Jan. 18 with 19 saves.
Chicago desperately needed a win to stay afloat in the Western Conference race. The Blackhawks now sit in sixth place, five points behind fifth-place Nashville and four behind eighth-place Phoenix before those two teams meet late Thursday.
