Tommy Hanson Has Car Accident

The Atlanta Braves are a team with high hopes and extraordinary pitching depth. Among that pitching depth is Tommy Hanson, the 25-year-old righty with a career 120 ERA+. Monday, Hanson and the Braves have been given a scare, as Hanson blew a tire while driving and drove off the road. David O'Brien:

Tommy Hanson and the Braves got a scare Monday morning with the pitcher drove off the road in a one-car accident that left him with a possible concussion. The Braves were awaiting test results.
[...]
Hanson told Braves officials that he blew a tire while rounding a curve near the team training site. He had his car towed and made it to camp in time for a 9:30 a.m. team meeting, before a 10 a.m. practice for pitchers and catchers. He didn’t work out.

Hanson went to the meeting, but then said he didn’t feel very good. He bumped his head in the accident, so he was sent to a doctor to be tested for a concussion. The Braves don’t seem to be all that concerned, and Hanson doesn’t seem to be all that concerned, but the C-word is an ominous word in all circumstances. By “C-word” I don’t mean “circumstances”. Or “concerned”. Or that other C-word.

We should know how Hanson's doing before very long. Even if he did sustain a concussion, it could be a very mild concussion. They aren't all Justin Morneau concussions. Or he might not have sustained a concussion at all. Hanson could be right back on the field Tuesday.
