Hey guys. Over the next couple months I am going to try and interview a bunch of NFL Draft prospects that are projected as mid to late round draft choices. The first guy I contacted was Blair Walsh, the kicker from Georgia. Walsh is projected as the top kicker in the draft and had an incredible career at Georgia. He was kind enough to take some time out of his busy schedule to answer some of the questions I had for him. After the jump, see what he and I talked about.

What was the best moment of your life?
The best moment of my life was the day I signed my letter of intent with the University of Georgia Bulldgs. It was the culmination of a ton of hard work and dedication paying off.
What was your favorite moment in a college game?
My favorite moment in a college game was when I hit the game winning field goal in Sanford Stadium against Arizona State.
If you had to describe yourself to an NFL Scout in three sentences or less what would you say?
I am an extremely hard working and dedicated kicker who puts a ton of time and effort into perfecting his craft. I posses the leg strength, accuracy, and technique that is required to succeed in the NFL at both field goals and kickoffs. I am also great teammate who and a quick learner.
What is your biggest strength as a kicker? biggest weakness? How are you working to improve on that weakness?
My biggest strength as a kicker is my combination of power and accuracy when it comes to long field goals, kickoffs, and intermediate range field goals. I have the ability to hit kickoffs deep and high and long field goals.
What is your favorite NFL team? Have any teams asked to interview you yet?
I have been interviewed by a multitude of NFL teams and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
Who would you like to thank the most for where you are today?
I would like to thank God as well as my family. My family has been a great support system for me throughout my career and I would not be where I am today without them.
Were you heavily recruited out of high school? If so, what was that process like? How does the process compare to the NFL Draft process?
I WAS heavily recruited out of high school and it was an awesome process to visit various colleges and meet a multitude of college coaches. I was recruited by Florida, Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, and Georgia. Had about 50 D-1 offers. The process is similar because in college the coaches are making an investment in you for 4 years and in the NFL they are also making an investment in you. In both process you have to showcase your talents and abilities while being humble and confident at the same time.
What NFL player do you think your game resembles? Why?
I think the NFL player I most resemble is Robbie Gould of the Chicago Bears. Robbie is a very consistent kicker who posses leg strength and and power to hit long field goals and deep kickoffs.
What makes you better than other draft eligible kickers?
I think the following things separate me and make me better than the other draft eligible kickers:
-I have the ability to consisitently hit long range field goals and kick deep/high kickoffs that result in touchbacks
-I am a four year starter and have started all 53 games in my career
-I am experienced from having played in front of 92,000 + fans every week and was fortunate enough to play in the SEC
-I believe my career speaks for itself and I have the work ethics and desire to succeed at the NFL level
