Agility/movement: Stanford's pro-style offense often called for DeCastro pull, trap and work the second level directly. He's proficient at all three. DeCastro doesn't make wasted steps when he's working on the move and targets defenders well.
Pass blocking: DeCastro is inarguably the best pass blocking guard in this year's draft. He moves around well in-line and gets a good base under him. He properly extends his arms to hold pass rushers back. Keeps his head up when blocking which helps him pick up delayed blitzes or moves to the inside. Reportedly only gave up a single sack during his college career and none during his senior season.

Quickness: Gets into his stance quickly and without a wasted movement. Fires off low and fast in short-yardage and goal-line plays. Often makes his move on a defender before they can.
Run blocking: Is adept at working power, man or zone blocking. Knows how to work angles to his advantage in the run game. DeCastro plays with a lot of aggression in the run game and likes to finish off blocks. This causes some issues for DeCastro at times because he’ll overextend get beaten. Was used a lot on the move, particularly working forward on the second level. Has some minor strength issues and can get knocked off balance.
Strength: DeCastro has solid functional strength, but could get stronger to anchor better against bull rushers. At times he was pushed around in the run game by power defensive tackles.
Technique: Will get upright at times and lose leverage causing him to get pushed back in the pocket. If DeCastro learns to play lower and add some strength in his legs, he can become an elite guard in the NFL. His other technical areas — hand work, arm extension, keeping active eyes on the move — are flawless.
Final word: As good of a guard prospect as there has been in years. DeCastro is quick off the line of scrimmage which helps him get under defensive linemen. He knows how to properly use his hands to keep defenders away. Instinctive against the pass rush. Plays with a nasty disposition.
