2013 NFL Draft: Knile Davis back on the field in a big way

Arkansas kicked off spring practices yesterday, and the team was joined by a familiar face. Running back Knile Davis returned to the field yesterday with the Razorbacks for the first time since an ankle injury derailed his entire 2011 campaign.

Davis will be a welcome addition to an offense that figures to be one of the best in the Southeastern Conference this season. While the Razorbacks have lost some of their top wide receivers to the NFL Draft, Tyler Wilson will be back under center this fall. Wilson and Davis will provide the offense with incredible balance.

As far as the health of the star Arkansas running back, he appears to be just fine. Davis ran a 4.33 in the 40-yard dash, benched 415 pounds and squatted 570 pounds, according to ESPN. So much for that bum ankle.

As of now, there is reason to believe that Knile Davis could be a first round pick by the time the 2013 NFL Draft rolls around. Having not seen him play since 2010, it’s tough to pinpoint his exact value, especially given the ever-decreasing value of running backs in today’s NFL.

One thing is for sure; SEC defenses better be on alert. It appears that Davis is in for a monster season.
