How Many Wide Receivers Will Be Drafted In The First Round?

The wide receivers have been the main headline makers from the few days of free agency. Vincent Jackson, the clear number one free agent receiver, was given a massive five-year, $55million deal from the Buccaneers. The Redskins overpaid for Pierre Garcon, and paired him up with Josh Morgan. Laurent Robinson got a big deal from the Jaguars, while Reggie Wayne shocked everyone and went back to the Colts to be Andrew Luck's top target. Guys like Eddie Royal are drawing a lot of interest, having visited with both the Redskins and Chargers. Even DeSean Jackson, who saw the Eagles place the franchise tag on him, got a long-term deal. Marquis Colston got his deal with the Saints hours before he hit the open market, while ex-Saint Robert Meachem moved out to San Diego. All of this and there is still guys like Brandon Lloyd available.

With such a big receiver class in free agency, you have to wonder the need of receivers in the first round of the draft. So I pose this question to you. How many wide receivers will be taken in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft? For me, I see three clear first round receivers in Justin Blackmon, Michael Floyd and Kendall Wright. After that you have guys that I see as 'tweeners' that could go between the end of the first and middle of the second. Guys such as Alshon Jeffery, Stephen Hill, Rueben Randle, Mohamed Sanu could all potentially go in that sort of range.

So how many of them will get drafted in the first round? Let me know who you think will and won’t in the comments.
