It seemed like the Washington Capitals were turning a corner, having won four straight games. Instead, they are crashing into the wall once again.
Capitals Vs. Blackhawks: Caps Struggle At Wrong Time In 5-2 Loss

A overall poor effort Sunday cost the Caps their second straight game in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Washington found itself down 2-0 within the first 10 minutes before even registered its first shot on goal, which did not come until 16 minutes into the period. Mike Knuble cut the lead to 2-1 early in the second period, but two quick goals from Patrick Kane and Andrew Shaw gave Chicago a 4-1 lead. Alex Ovechkin made it a two-goal game headed into the third period, but the Caps only registered seven shots on goal in the third and could not come back.
After losing to the Winnipeg Jets Friday, the Caps have lost two straight. Monday, Washington will face the Detroit Red Wings as the former's playoff chances continue to dwindle.
