Could an unexpected team land Tebow in a trade?

Over the past week, we have all had to listen to the Peyton Manning drama, and try to guess where he would go. Well now that the future Hall of Fame quarterback has selected his destination in Denver, there could be even bigger news coming out of Colorado. Last year during the season we were all able to learn about Tebow Time or Tebow Mania. Well folks, it sounds as if it is going to occur again, but this time before the draft starts. The Broncos began shopping the Heisman Trophy winner yesterday, calling teams and seeing who all had interest in his services. There is one team that I really think could be a player, but is not being talked about too much. What team is it?

The Buffalo Bills made a huge splash in free agency this past week, when they were able to sign Mario Williams. The signing of Williams showed that the Buffalo Bills were serious, and even the owner Ralph Wilson Jr. said in an interview that this is the time to win, and that the fans deserved a good product on the field. Well, first of all I would like to say thank you Mr. Wilson, because the product on the field over the past 11 years has been horrible. Well this year could be the year that things change. Could the Bills be ready to make another splash?

When you think of a dual threat/slash type quarterback the first person that usually comes to mind is Michael Vick, well if you remember a few years back when Vick was available, Buffalo was all over him trying to sign him. There were reports saying that Vick was told he couldn't sign in Buffalo by the Commissioner. We will never know the real story to that, but the truth is that Buffalo did express interest. You might ask yourself, Why did Bills show interest in Vick?

Let me explain it a little better. The first Slash quarterback, was Kordell Stewart, he was a running quarterback who could throw the ball. Do you know the person that is famous for his development? That's right it was Chan Gailey the Buffalo Bills head coach. Chan is known as one of the most unique play calling offensive guru's in the NFL. Gailey has always found a way to use a player and get the best out of him, regardless of the situation. Remember Jay Fiedler, he became a pretty good quarterback underneath Chan Gailey's Offense. So imagine what Tim Tebow could do under Chan Gailey?

Secondly, Buffalo's quarterbacks coach George Cortez left this year for the CFL, which left an open hole on the offensive side of the ball. Well it didn't take long for the Bills to fill that void. The Buffalo Bills reached out to David Lee, that's right David Lee of Ole Miss. Lee spent the last season in Ole Miss but is famous in college football as well as the NFL for a system that he had mastered at both levels. In, 2006, Lee ran a variation of the wildcat formation which prominently featured running backs Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. The wildcat formation was sometimes called the "wildhog" (in honor of the Razorback mascot at the University of Arkansas). Lee then left Arkansas for the Miami Dolphins in 2008 where he implemented the "Wildcat" using Ronnie Brown. Lee was named "Innovator of the Year" 2008 by Sporting News for introducing the "Wildcat offense" to the NFL. So just imagine what David Lee could do with Tebow?

The Buffalo Bills GM Buddy Nix is one of the straightest shooters in the history of GM's. He doesn't lie, the guy is honest with the media and tells them the truth. He told the media he would be in and out of Free Agency by Friday and they would be really aggressive to sign their guys. Well Buffalo signed one of the Biggest Free Agents available in Mario Williams, and you haven't heard from Buffalo since. Well Buddy Nix has always said that if there is a franchise quarterback available that can do it for 10 years, you get him. Well two years ago Buddy Nix tried to trade up to get Tebow, but was ousted by the Denver Broncos. So my question is if they saw Tebow as a Franchise quarterback 2 years ago why would that change?

I remember after the draft the Bills owner was interviewed about Tim Tebow and admitted that he thought the Broncos overpaid for him. Well that might have been the truth, but was there a little anger in that statement? That could be jealousy because the Bills didn't get him. If you watched the ESPN documentary on Tebow you know that the Bills were serious about Tebow, because at one point in the documentary Tim's Agent mentions Buffalo is serious and he told Tim he felt that Buffalo will draft him in the first round. So don't be surprised if you hear the Buffalo Bills enter the Tebow sweepstakes. To me, it is a smart idea, because Chan Gailey can implement different packages on the field where Tebow can come in on 3rd and shorts like Brad Smith did for the Bills last year. With both Brad Smith and Tim Tebow on the same roster, Chan could really mix up the playbook. As long as Tebow understands his role, and Fitzpatrick realizes he is still the number one, then there shouldn't be any problem in Buffalo.

So football fans, do you think the Bills will be a player for Tebow? What do you think the Bills will give up for him? Answer the poll below, and leave a comment on what pick they might offer for Tebow.
