2012 NFL Draft: Nick Foles and Juron Criner didn’t stand out at Arizona’s Pro Day

Nick Foles and Juron Criner have connected more than 150 times for well over 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns over the past two seasons at the University of Arizona. Unfortunately, at Arizona's pro day this week, bad weather prohibited the quarterback-wide receiver combo from flashing their true potential in front of NFL scouts, according to Rob Rang.

Scouts did not have many positives to take away from Foles’ workout. The strong-armed signal caller struggled to throw a consistent and accurate spiral. The rainy conditions didn’t help, but after a strong senior bowl, most evaluators were hoping for a bit more out of the gunslinger.

As for his favorite target, Criner did improve his 40 time from 4.68 to 4.52. The problem is he was running on a fast track due to the weather, so most scouts will take on time to his new and improved 40. Criner was reportedly smooth in the position drills, which is where he is at his best. The former wildcat is a smooth route runner with reliable hands and body control. It was not a terrible performance by any means, but Criner didn’t shine like I’m sure he was hoping.

Still, Criner and Foles each represent solid value in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft.
