A day after Robert Griffin III lit up Baylor's pro day, Andrew Luck did the same at Stanford. Luck looked calm and composed throughout the workout, making it appear like it was just a warm-up for him. Interestingly, Stanford's pro day was held outside, where it was "as windy as can be" as NFL Network's Mike Mayock put it. Luck didn't shy away from it, instead he stood up to the challenge and threw into the wind for all of the scripted throws.

It looked to be a shaky start for Luck. The first two scripted throws were deep patterns into the wind. Both of which were under-thrown. After just two throws, Luck adjusted, to the point where you would hardly have known it was windy. One knock on Luck is that he doesn’t have elite arm strength. While that may be the case, the ball came out with plenty of rip and velocity, cutting through the wind with ease. This could certainly help quell any arm strength concerns. He may not have an elite arm, but it’s more than capable to make every throw he’ll be asked to make.
Luck then moved on to a catch and throw drill. Luck held his hands at his head while a coach dropped the ball from chest height. Luck had to catch and throw as quickly as possible. He was near immaculate throwing receivers standing as far away as 20 yards down-field, a lot of the time not even bothering to find the laces of the football. His spiral was tight whether he found the laces or not.
After that they ran some ‘pressure’ drills, where a coach holding a broom simulated a pass rusher. Luck either had to step up in the pocket, slide to dodge the rusher, or roll out and throw on the run. Whichever option he took, his footwork was near perfect. He had no troubles rolling to his left and throwing on the run into the wind.
Over the course of the workout, they moved up and down the field. Once they moved Luck into the red zone, his touch got even more precise, a highlight throw being a slant and go, or 'slugo' route that he hit the receiver Chris Owusu in the corner of the end zone.
To end the drills, They turned around and Luck threw a 70 yard bomb (with the wind behind him) perfectly in stride of the receiver (I believe it was Owusu again) who dropped it on the goal line.
I can only remember 3 incompletions throughout the workout, one was an easy drop by tight end Coby Fleener, another was the drop by Owusu I just mentioned. The only one I can remember that was on Luck was a touch throw to the back corner pylon in the end zone, and that was about a yard over-thrown.
The most impressive thing about the work-out to me was the footwork, it was so methodical. Nearly every step was in the right place. But we weren’t able to see perhaps Luck’s most impressive aspect of his game. What he can do pre-snap; reading the defense, checking out of bad plays into good ones, changing receivers routes, that is unrivaled by any quarterback I’ve seen come out, certainly in recent years. We didn’t even get to see any of this today.
