2012 McDonald’s All-American Game Rosters: Shabazz Muhammad Leads, Kyle Anderson Lead Talented West, East Backcourts

The 2012 McDonald’s All-American Game tips off Wednesday night, showcasing a bounty of talent on the East and West squads. Though the two teams are made up of athletes from opposite coasts, both feature rather impressive backcourts.

Shabazz Muhammad may be the biggest name for either team. The 6-foot-6 small forward from Las Vegas comes in No. 2 on the ESPNU Top 100 recruiting list, earning high praise for his ability to attack the rim. Joining him in the backcourt will be the top two point guards in the country in No. 23 Marcus Paige, headed to the North Carolina Tar Heels, and No. 24 Kris Dunn, on his way to the Providence Friars.

Muhammad's counterpart on the East squad, 6-foot-7 small forward Kyle Anderson out of New Jersey, earned ESPNU's No. 4 overall rating. Despite his size, Anderson has the ability to play both backcourt positions as well as the three-spot, and could man the ever-elusive "point forward" role with the UCLA Bruins next season. Joining him are the likes of point guard Yogi Ferrell (No. 33), headed to the Indiana Hoosiers, and center Tony Parker (No. 21), who is currently uncommitted.
