The East was able to stay competitive, with UCLA Bruins recruit Kyle Anderson nearly pulling off a triple-double: 13 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. It was a long journey for the East squad, overcoming a 24-point deficit at one time and eventually paring that down to four points with two minutes remaining.
Recent MVPs from this game include North Carolina's Harrison Barnes and Ohio State's Jared Sullinger (co-winners in 2010) and Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and North Carolina's James Michael McAdoo's (both in 2011). Sullinger and Gilchrist are still playing in the 2012 NCAA Tournament while the other two reached the Elite Eight. Will Muhammad be able to make a deep run into the tournament with whichever school he winds up at?
