2012 NFL Draft: Brock Osweiler with a strong workout for scouts

A foot injury in the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl kept Brock Osweiler from competing at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine. Today, the former Arizona State quarterback got his first chance to workout in front of scouts since the injury, and it went pretty well for him.

Osweiler showed decent mobility for his size and broke out some new and improved throwing mechanics, according to azcentral.com. His workout was one of the final pro days of the year, and Osweiler said it was worth the wait.

“It took me two months to get healthy so for me to put my Pro Day this far back, I’m one of the last ones in the country,” Osweiler told AZ Central. “It was very hard to sit back and wait but I felt it was worth it.”

Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are the clear cut top two quarterbacks in this draft, and while Ryan Tannehill seems to have secured the spot as this year's No.3 signal caller, the race is pretty wide open after the two elite prospects.

Osweiler is a raw prospect, but given some time, the physically imposing gun-slinger could develop into a franchise quarterback. His upside is immense, but it may not be quite enough to make him a first round draft choice. As a day two pick, however, Osweiler presents excellent value.
