Ryan Leaf has dug himself a pretty hole already. After being drafted second overall in the 1998 NFL Draft and suffering through a football career of obscurity, Leaf went down in history as one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history.
Ryan Leaf arrested, further solidifies himself as the biggest draft bust in NFL history
Somehow, Leaf continues to make it worse. In 2010, Leaf pled guilty to seven counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and one count of delivery of a simulated controlled substance. The eight felony charges got Leaf sentenced for 10 years of probation.
Last night, Leaf seemingly hit rock bottom. He was once again arrested, this time for burglary, drug and theft charges. He is free on $76,000 bond, according to the Great Falls Tribune.
If he wasn’t already, Leaf is proving everyday why he should be considered the biggest draft bust in NFL history. While guys like Tim Couch and JeMarcus Russel have faded into obscurity, Leaf continues to get his name in the media for all of the wrong reasons. Known for making horrendous decisions on the football field, Leaf has proven to be an even worse decision maker off the gridiron.
