Here’s a quick easy weekend debate for you guys to mull over. The concept is simple, what position (on the defensive side of the ball) is the deepest in this class. By that I mean, which position has the most quality players throughout the draft?
What Is The Deepest Defensive Position In The 2012 NFL Draft?
For example, I think it's a good year to need a cornerback. You have guys like Morris Claiborne, Dre Kirkpatrick and Janoris Jenkins headlining the position in the first round; whereas guys like Casey Hayward, Dwight Bentley and Josh Norman are still good players, but could all go in the middle to later rounds of the draft.
So what do you think? What defensive position has the most quality depth throughout the draft? Next week I’ll look at the offensive side of the ball, and then we’ll wrap it up with a face-off vote between the best defensive position and the best offensive position to see which position is the overall strongest.
Note: Before you vote, I want you to judge 4-3 defensive end/3-4 outside linebacker tweeners as the position they played in college to avoid any confusion.
