Tuesday NFL Draft links to click

Georgia Tech, Illinois and UCLA are among today’s pro days. Things really take off tomorrow.

Cincy Jungle - Late-round picks are important too
When we talk about the 2012 NFL draft, we spend the majority of our time discussing the first three or four rounds. That’s completely understandable considering that the first-round guys are generally expected to contribute to the team in some way immediately (I’m looking at you Andre Smith). The late-round guys, like the guys selected in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds, are utilized on special teams or they provide depth and that’s if they make the team in the first place.

Field Gulls - Scouting Oregon’s David Paulson
Our own Scott Enyeart ran the following interview for SB Nation Seattle but I figured it would be interesting for Seahawks fans as well so I’m publishing parts of it here as well. With Michael Robinson and John Carlson in free agent limbo, the need for a TE/H-back type potentially increases going into next season for the Seahawks.

Sporting News - Georgia pro day: Cordy Glenn impressive as possible first-rounder
Cornerback Brandon Boykin, considered a potential first-round pick at next month's NFL Draft, did not participate in Georgia's pro day Monday, but offensive linemen Cordy Glenn impressed with a strong all-around workout.

Boston Herald - Sanu looks better over the middle
Bill Belichick has said he likes Rutgers players because they are NFL ready coming out of Greg Schiano’s program. That said, what is wide receiver Mohamed Sanu most ready for? Being the deep threat the Pats need? Or something else?

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.

It’s a high-potential pick for a Detroit defense that needs a solid pass rusher.
