The Indianapolis Colts are expected to announce on Wednesday that they will be releasing superstar quarterback Peyton Manning. The team has called a noon press conference, and Manning and Colts owner Jim Irsay are both expected to be present detailing the reportedly amicable split.

It’s possible the split truly is as amicable as the Colts and Manning want everyone to believe. Manning and Irsay were on the same flight to Indianapolis on Tuesday night, and they left the airport in the same car, briefly stopping to tell a group of reporters they’d talk more on Wednesday.

“We’ll see y’all tomorrow,” Manning said, repeating himself several times while dodging questions. “We’ll talk tomorrow. We’re good. We’re going to talk tomorrow. We’re going to do it the right way tomorrow.”

From RTV6 in Indianapolis:

The Colts are believed to be parting ways with Manning in order to not only save some money on the quarterback’s pricey contract, but to make room for suspected No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Luck. Luck, formerly of the Stanford Cardinal, is projected by many to be NFL-ready with very little preparation.
