The last time that the Toronto Maple Leafs were at home, Ron Wilson coached his final game in a losing effort. Tuesday, Randy Carlyle was behind the bench for the first time at Air Canada Centre, but nothing changed.

After winning his debut, Carlyle's Leafs struggled in his home debut in a 5-4 loss to the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins used a four-goal second period to take control of the game as Tyler Seguin scored twice. Jordan Caron also scored for Boston, who was missing several key players, including Nathan Horton, Daniel Paille and Rich Peverly. Meanwhile, the Leafs had contributions from their top stars, including goals from Phil Kessel and recently-signed Mikhail Grabovski, but pour goaltending doomed them once again as Jonaa Gustavsson allowed five goals on 30 shots in a losing effort.

Toronto is 2-7-1 in its last 10 games, proving that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
