This year I wrote the player rankings and evaluations for the USA Today 2012 NFL Draft magazine. It’s on newsstands now and available online here. Leading up to the draft, I’ll be reprinting some of my quick reports here.
Nate Potter 2012 NFL Draft quick report

Nate Potter, Boise State
Height: 6'6, Weight: 295 pounds
Strengths: One of the better run-blocking tackles in this year’s draft. Works well in space and finishes off his blocks. Excels at blocking on the second level against linebackers. Possesses good agility for the position. Could play guard or tackle.
Weaknesses: Gets in trouble against the bull rush because his technique is inconsistent. Tends to play too narrow in pass protection and doesn’t keep a good base. Will need to continue adding power to his frame.
Combine quotable: You have to be a special person to play left tackle in the NFL. Each week is a huge test. I’m not saying playing right tackle is easier because it’s not, but that’s a good transition to go to the right and maybe move to the left later on.
