Brandon Washington 2012 NFL Draft quick report

This year I wrote the player rankings and evaluations for the USA Today 2012 NFL Draft magazine. It’s on newsstands now and available online here. Leading up to the draft, I’ll be reprinting some of my quick reports here.

Brandon Washington, Miami (Fla.)
Ht: 6’4, Wt: 320 pounds

Strengths: Is deceptively athletic for a big-bodied offensive lineman. Gets out on the move nicely. Has been used some on pulls. Strong as a drive blocker, locking into his block and pushing the defensive lineman around. Good quickness to get off the snap. Versatile. Has played all along the line.

Weaknesses: Needs to refine his technique some. Is more of a waist bender than a knee bender. Doesn’t always extend his arms. Because of his technique flaws, Washington will sometime give up his leverage.
