Derek Wolfe 2012 NFL Draft quick report

Strengths: Wolfe is long-limbed and has some quickness off the snap, which makes him ideal for a role as a 3-4 end. Reads the play and takes angles really well in the run game. Worked hard, especially in the film room, to get better his senior season.
Weaknesses: Doesn’t play with a lot of power and can get moved around. Has to add functional strength to his frame. Tends to be a one-dimensional player who won’t overly impress with his athleticism.
Combine quotable: (On his position) It’s all football to me. If they want me to play 34 defensive end, then good. If they want me to play 3 technique, ok, cool. So it really doesn’t make a difference. I played both. We were a 43 and a 34. we did both. We had the same packages. Third down a lot of times I’d be on the edge. On first and second I was inside.
