Michael Brockers a popular choice for workouts and visits

Draft prospect Michael Brockers is certainly tallying up frequent flyer miles since the NFL Combine ended.

The LSU defensive tackle has been a hot commodity of late, with reported workouts or visits scheduled with these 13 teams:

Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins

Those are just the ones that are known. It’s a high number, particularly in early April, but not unusual. Though the Redskins bringing him in is interesting since they don’t have a second-round pick. So either Brockers has an agent who is extremely open with sharing information, or he’s one of the more confounding players in the draft. It’s likely the latter. Brockers left LSU after his redshirt sophomore season. Unlike some other prospects, he doesn’t have stats to back up his game after finishing 2011 with 47 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

Brockers also failed to turned heads in the workout process, finishing his Combine with a 5.36 40-yard dash, 19 bench press reps and a 26 1/2-inch vertical leap. Brockers improved his numbers some at the LSU pro day, but he’s not quite the athletic marvel most expected when he declared for the draft.

But it’s not only NFL teams who are interested in Brockers. He’s taped a segment with ESPN’s Sports Science and he judged a slam dunk contest at the Final Four. Watch as some guy you’ve never heard of dunks over Brockers:

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
