It may not just be a two-team showdown between the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins to draft Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
Interest in Ryan Tannehill heating up; QB working out for Eagles, Chiefs
As Peter King of Sports Illustrated pointed out in Monday Morning Quarteback, Tannehill is working out today for the Philadelphia Eagles. King also reports that Tannehill will be working out for the Kansas City Chiefs later this week.
Don't forget that the Seattle Seahawks sent head coach Pete Carroll, General Manager John Schneider and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell to his pro day. That's despite signing Matt Flynn in free agency.
The growing interesting in Tannehill should be expected. The top two quarterbacks in the class, Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, are set to be the first two picks in the draft to the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins.
Last week, Mike Mayock of NFL Network said Cleveland “has to take” Tannehill with the No. 4 pick. If that’s the case, these four teams showing interest in Tannehill will have to maneuver around in the draft. The Browns are bringing Tannehill in for a pre-draft visit.
The big winner, then, could be the Minnesota Vikings, who hold the No. 3 pick in the draft. The Vikings are likely down to choosing between USC offensive tackle Matt Kalil and LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne. If they don't fall in love with either player, they could score a solid bounty of picks — though nothing like what the Redskins gave up to move to No. 2.
