Zach Brown, North Carolina
Ht: 6’1 3/8, Wt: 236 pounds

Strengths: Brown has an excellent first step to get to the edge in a hurry. Elite speed for the position and most ball carriers won’t be able to pull away in the open field. Will be attractive for a team looking for a linebacker who can cover athletic tight ends. Has covered the slot receiver at times. Good hands.

Weaknesses: Not an especially instinctual linebacker and struggles when the play doesn’t come right at him. Is not the most physical defender and can get overmatched more than he should. Needs more strength to be a better tackler. Some have questioned his want-to.

Combine quotable: (On his toughest coverage assignment) Probably DeWayne Allen. He’s a good tight end, probably the best tight end I went against this year or all four years I was at Carolina. He’s a guy that can run and catch so this year when we played Clemson during practice I was working a lot of pass coverage. I was doing one-on-ones with the tight ends. It ended up in the game that he catches one pass.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
