Mychal Kendricks, California
Ht: 5'11, Wt: 240 pounds

Strengths: Kendricks is a stout, powerfully built linebacker who thrives on contact. Darts through gaps really well and is an underrated pass rusher. Has natural leverage. Solid tackler who doesn’t let the ball carrier get away upon contact. Makes plays all over the field. Solid speed. Should be able to play 4-3 Mike or Will or the 3-4 Ted.

Weaknesses: Has a hard time getting off blocks once he gets engaged. Will struggle in coverage against taller and faster pass catchers. Will be slow to react on pass plays. Wasn’t the primary signal caller on Cal’s defense.

Combine quotable: (On his strengths) My speed, my lateral quickness. I’m under everyone. I can get up underneath anyone who is trying to block me, so that’s not too bad. I’m smart, I make good decisions. I’m a team guy. I can gather my team up, I’m always communicating. There’s not too often where I let my team slip, or whoever’s around me. I’m always asking what their jobs are, just so they know what mine is.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
