Leonard Johnson 2012 NFL Draft quick report

Strengths: Johnson is a smart zone cornerback who knows when to play his area of pick up a receiver running through his area. Johnson burst onto the scene in 2011 when he had an impressive performance against Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon. A stellar kick returner.
Weaknesses: Hands are only average and won’t come down with a lot interceptions or break up a lot of passes. Needs to play tighter on short passes. Gives up a lot of little completions, which is why his tackle totals are so high. Could be better at getting off blocks to support against the run.
Combine quotable (On shutting down top receivers): It most definitely helps me with a confidence boost. Those guys are great receivers as we all know, so by me going out there and just do exactly what I love to do, it says a lot about me in terms of competing and having that competitive edge. It speaks more for myself. That’s what I have playing top guys. I always want the top guy, so I’m a guy that always looks for reassurance. So if you bring me the top guy every week, then I feel like if I dominate him, if I compete with him, then I kinda feeds to my confidence also.
