This year I wrote the player rankings and evaluations for the USA Today 2012 NFL Draft magazine. It’s on newsstands now and available online here. Leading up to the draft, I’ll be reprinting some of my quick reports here.
Trenton Robinson 2012 NFL Draft quick report

Trenton Robinson, Michigan State
Height: 5'9 3/4, Weight: 195 pounds
Strengths: Is good in zone coverage when he can cover a large area. Also has good tape in man coverage. Changes direction fluidly. Gets a good break on the ball. Could be moved to cornerback in the NFL and do well. Plays bigger than his size in the run game. Will be an asset on kick coverage units. Team leader.
Weaknesses: Doesn’t have a very big frame and has trouble when covering tight ends in man situations. Gets beaten over the top by fast receivers. Won’t make a lot of difficult interceptions. Will have to learn how to break down in space better to square up the ball carrier. Missed time in 2009 with an ankle injury. Robinson’s size may make him a durability concern.
