Jacksonville Jaguars select Justin Blackmon No. 5 in 2012 NFL Draft

Despite signing Laurent Robinson this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars still wanted their No. 1 wide receiver. So much so they were willing to give up the No. 101 pick in the draft to trade up from No. 7 to No. 5 to select Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon.

The Jaguars have no surrounded second-year quarteback Blaine Gabbert with some weapons. Now we can find out if he knows how to use them.

Blackmon isn't the elite-level wide receiver like A.J. Green and Julio Jones last year. But he's a legit No. 1 wide receiver. He's got good size, speed and great body control to make catches on bad throws.

Quick scouting notes: Blackmon adjusts to bad passes better than any wide receiver in this year’s class and knows how to get open at the sideline. He’s a good blocker in the run game and has a good motor. Gets off the line effortlessly and doesn’t make a wasted step. Likes to use his size to get open down the field. Strong after the catch.
