The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a risk moving out of the No. 5 spot and may not pay for it by not getting cornerback Morris Claiborne. That's not to say the pick of Mark Barron isn't a bad one, however.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Mark Barron No. 7 in 2012 NFL Draft

The current starters at safety for Tampa Bay are Larry Asante and Cody Grimm. Although no one was expecting the Bucs to draft Barron, it's still a good choice. Barron is by far the best safety in this year's draft and a good all-around safety. He'll start as a rookie and improve the back half of the team's secondary.
After adding a lot of free agent help on offense, the Buccaneers will use several of their picks this year on defense. It starts with Barron. The trade also netted the Buccaneers an extra third-round pick.
Quick scouting notes: Barron has nice strength, on-field intelligence and three years of starting experience on the nation’s best defense. When he’s consistently used in coverage, Barron has good hands and makes some tough interceptions. Has good instincts to play zone.
