We have our first big shocker in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Seattle Seahawks' choice of West Virginia Bruce Irvin is a head scratcher. He would have likely been available in the second or even third round of the draft. To take him here is bizarre. It's true Irvin has talent, but he's a project player.

This is a boom or bust player. Why not take a player like Melvin Ingram or Courtney Upshaw instead? This is bizarre and will be a shock if it pans out well for the Seahawks.

Quick scouting notes: Irvin is a one-dimensional pass rusher with serious character concerns. Although his one dimension is a great one, he can’t do much else. He was taken out of games on run downs and is a complete unknown in pass coverage.
