The New England Patriots are being aggressive and the rest of the NFL should be very afraid. For the second time in the first round, the Patriots moved up. This time, the team gave up picks 31 and 126 to the Denver Broncos for pick No. 25.

In doing so, the Patriots were able to grab Alabama’s Dont’a Hightower, the most sure-thing 3-4 inside linebacker in this year’s draft. Hightower is a much better version of Brandon Spikes. The Patriots can use Hightower inside and rushing the passer from the edge. It’s a dangerous pick.

Quick scouting notes: Is a powerful and imposing physical presence and has the strength to easily shed blockers. Getting through a pile isn’t an issue for Hightower. Was lined up outside at times and has the strength to power through blocks.
