The hot potato known as the No. 31 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft got flipped again. First from New England to Denver. Now it’s off to Tampa Bay. Denver traded picks 31 and 136 to Tampa Bay for 36 and 101.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Doug Martin No. 31 in 2012 NFL Draft

After missing on Morris Claiborne and Trent Richardson early in the draft, the Buccaneers seemed to settle on safety Mark Barron. By trading back into the first round, they hit a home run with a player like Martin. He'll pair well with LeGarrette Blount. Martin can do everything a running back needs to, and Blount doesn't.
This isn’t what anyone expected for the Buccaneers, but this is turning out to be another good draft for them.
Quick scouting notes: A squat running back who is hard to take down because of his strength, powerful base and balance. Nicely sets up his blocks before hitting the hole. Is an excellent check down passing option over the middle.
