↵↵He had signed Hobbs to the major leagues right off a semi-pro team called the Heeber Oilers. Best I can tell, there is no “Heeber” anywhere in America. There is a “Heber” in Arizona, another in California, and a fairly big city in Utah called Heber City. There is also a Heber Springs, Arkansas, where former NFL star Fred Williams lived. I like to think that’s the place where Scott found Roy Hobbs.
