Martin Hanzal Suspended 1 Game For Dustin Brown Hit

The NHL suspended Coyotes center Martin Hanzal for Game 3 after he received a major penalty and was ejected for boarding in Game 2.

Already trailing two games to none in best-of-seven Western Conference Final, the Phoenix Coyotes will now have to play Game 3 without Martin Hanzal who was suspended for one game Wednesday.

The NHL suspended Hanzal for Game 3 of the series as a result of a boarding penalty he was assessed late in Game 2. With the Coyotes trailing 3-0 in the third period of Game 2, Hanzal received a major penalty and a game misconduct for boarding Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown.

Brown stayed down on the ice for a few seconds, but returned to the game following the incident. Game 3 of the series is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET on Thursday and will be played in Los Angeles.
