I wanted to go back and look at the 2006 NFL Draft and see what late rounder’s are still in the league and have done a great job. So what I did was found players drafted in the 6th and 7th round who are still on teams and making an impact. Did you know that these players were taken in the later rounds? What player do you think has been the biggest impact player for his team? Make sure you vote after the break.

Jeremy Mincey – DE – Jacksonville Jaguars – Initially drafted by the New England Patriots out of Florida with the 191st pick in the 6th round of the 2006 draft. Mincey has been a really big part in the growth of the Jaguars defense, and was rewarded with a new contract.

Antoine Bethea – DB – Indianapolis Colts – Coming from a small school, Howard’s star defensive back, helped the Colts early and often, and won a Superbowl ring early in his career. He was selected with the 207th pick in the 6th round, and has been a great asset to the Colts defense.

Corteland Finnegan – DB – St. Louis Rams – Finnegan came from a small school as well, but the Samford star, has been very effective in the NFL. He is one of the most aggressive pass defenders in the league, and has done a great job at getting in the heads of the star receivers. Finnegan was drafted with the 215th pick in the draft by the Tennessee Titans, and has been a very solid starter since.

Marques Colston – WR – New Orleans Saints – We all know about the Hofstra stud, which came in and out of nowhere, blew up and became the main target of Drew Brees in New Orleans. He was just three picks away from being Mr. Irrelevant in the 2006 NFL Draft and was selected with the 252nd pick in the draft.

Of these four players that are still in the league, which one’s have been the biggest impact player for their respected teams? Make sure you vote at the bottom of the page
