We here at Mocking the Draft put together a bracket to match up the top 32 rookie quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends drafted in April. Fantasy Football Rookie Bracket Match Up: Doug Martin Vs DeVier Posey
Wow, yesterday's match up is going massively against the gain. We must have a lot of Bills fans reading Mocking the Draft. Back on to today... The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded back up into the first round to select running back Doug Martin having missed out on Trent Richardson with their early first round pick. Meanwhile the Houston Texans selected wide receiver DeVier Posey with their third round pick.
Why vote for Martin?
Doug Martin is a tight, compact, physical back. He won't shy away from hits, with the ability to break tackles and gain yards after the initial contact. He should be a heavy workhorse for a Bucs team looking for a true identity. Their new head coach, Greg Schiano, is looking to install that hard-nosed mentality and a power run game with Martin is a good place to start. The Bucs spent big in the offseason, signing pro bowl guard Carl Nicks, who paired with fellow pro bowler Davin Joseph, should give Tampa a big strength up front for Martin to run behind. They also splashed out big on receiver Vincent Jackson, who should draw double coverage the majority of the time. If a safety has to hover over the top of Jackson, it means one less man in the box that can tackle Martin.

Why vote against Martin?
The heat in Tampa Bay won’t make it easy for him. To take 20-25 carries a game between the tackles is hard enough over the course of the season. But throw in the factor of Florida heat for half of the games, and it makes it even harder. This could cause Martin to burn out early, or could force him to split time with incumbent LeGarrette Blount. The Bucs defense was one of the worst in the league last year. If they can’t improve, then they could find themselves behind early in games and playing catch up, which could also limit the number of carries for Martin.
Why vote for Posey?
The Texans have been searching for a legitimate number two receiver to play opposite of Andre Johnson, and coupled with the release of Jacoby Jones, it could be an open competition in camp. The Texans offense is based off the highly effective zone blocking scheme , with play-action off of that. The play-action can make it pretty easy for receivers to get open, which could help Posey's struggles with route running and getting separation. Andre Johnson will draw double and even triple coverage's, while teams will be stacking the box in attempt to stop Foster and the run game. That should allow the second receiver plenty of one-on-one coverage's, then it's down to him to get open.
Why vote against Posey?
The Texans are a run first team. They are more than happy to carry the ball 30-40 times a game. Add in the potential 8-12 catches a game scheduled for Johnson, and there isn’t many other touches of the ball to go around. To get some, Posey would have to win the second receiver spot out of camp. Unfortunately for him, the favorite for that right now appears to be Lester Jean, who the Texans signed as an undrafted free agent last year. He’s spent a year learning from Johnson, and coaches have been signing his praises this offseason. Posey would have to do extremely well to win the job in camp this year, by the sounds of it.
