The Houston Astros have placed starting pitcher Bud Norris on the 15-day disabled list.

Norris had been struggling with a sprained knee and hip flexor injury dating back to a late-May road trip, and the injuries came to a head this weekend when Morris was forced to miss his latest start.

The decision to shut Norris down came during a recent bullpen session, and the Astros will look to have Norris’s DL stint begin retroactively to his last appearance on June 12th.

With Norris’s absence, it’s unclear what the Astros’ starting rotation will look like.

Today, left-handed Dallas Keuchel had his MLB league debut as a result of Norris's injury, as the Astros lost to the Texas Rangers 9-3. However, Keuchel pitched well, allowing just one earned run over five innings.

Norris is 5-4 on the season with a 4.81 ERA, but he’s been winless in his last four appearances.

The Astros expect to give Norris a rehab assignment before bringing him back into their rotation.
