Kings defenseman Matt Greene is three wins away from having what sounds like almost a cliche, Hollywood motion picture version of “Best Summer Ever!”
Matt Greene Could Be Having A Summer With Stanley And Springsteen
The blueliner, who’s logged a goal, three assists and key special teams minutes (his goal was shorthanded in the Vancouver series) is not only thisclose to a Stanley Cup against New Jersey, he and his wife are also planning their summer around one of the state’s best-known music legends: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
I first became aware of Greene’s love of The Boss through this video the Fuse network put together on the Kings’ locker room music. Greene’s bit about hangin’ on E Street is toward the end.

Dude believes in it. Anyway, I thought I'd ask Greene at practice Friday if he felt there might be any jinx in keeping Bruce on heavy rotation while he's in the Garden State. His response was great: "No, no, you never put a ban on The Boss. I'm actually scheduling my summer vacation around him this year."
He and his wife are going to travel a bit to see Springsteen while the band is on their summer tour. It’ll be Greene’s first time seeing Bruce live. Though he had tickets to a show in Los Angeles a while back, the team was on the road at the time. If there were a Twitter meme for #HockeyPlayerProblems, this would probably headline it.
That said, we wish Greene well on his summer of Springsteen, and hope his teammates stop being unreasonably rude to him about his taste. Come on guys, I heard Night Ranger in that locker room.
