Arizona punched their ticket to the championship series of the 2012 College World Series Thursday, but one spot remains. That spot will be claimed Friday when South Carolina and Arkansas meet in an elimination game.
College World Series 2012: Final Spot In The Championship Series On The Line Friday
The Gamecocks and Razorbacks will meet at 9 p.m. ET with television coverage on ESPN. South Carolina forced Friday’s elimination game with their 2-0 win against Arkansas Thursday night. Friday’s game will be the third time the two teams have met during the College World Series. Arkansas won the first meeting 2-1.
If the previous two meetings are any indication, Friday’s elimination game should be a pitchers duel. The teams have combined for 21 hits and five runs over the first two games.
