Arizona is up 4-1 after six innings, but they haven’t quite been able to put South Carolina away, despite getting multiple runners on base in each of the last four innings.
2012 College World Series, South Carolina Vs. Arizona Score: Wildcats Up 4-1 After Six
South Carolina reliever Evan Beal, pitching in relief of starter Forrest Koumas, got double plays to get out of the third and fourth with two runners on.
The Wildcats were able to get a run on the board in the fifth, when Seth Mejias-Brean singled to center, but Beal was once again able to get out of a two-runners on jam without further damage.
After five dominant innings where he gave up only one hit, Arizona starter Konnor Wade finally looked human in the sixth. Evan Marzilli put the Gamecocks on the board for the first time, driving in Grayson Greiner on an RBI single.
