R.A. Dickey’s Streak Ends, Yankees Beat Mets 6-5

The knuckleballer still bleeds, as the Yankees were able to get to him early in their dramatic win Sunday night.

Before R.A. Dickey's start against the New York Yankees on Sunday night, the New York Mets knuckleballer had gone 53 innings without giving up a home run, 46 without an earned run and 32 without an extra base hts.

Nothing lasts forever, though, and the Yankees were able to get a feel for Dickey’s knuckleball in their 6-5 victory on Sunday night. Dickey went 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 5 earned runs with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.

Nick Swisher did the most damage, belting a 3-run HR in the the 3rd.

CC Sabathia didn't have his best stuff either, as the heavily hyped showdown between the two team's aces ended up being decided by each team's bullpen.

The Mets were able to claw their way back in the game in the 6th, with Andres Torres and Ruben Tejada driving in three runs with consecutive singles.

However, the game was decided in the 8th, when Robinson Cano hit a 440-foot HR to center off Miguel Batista, as the Mets bullpen has continued to struggle in Frank Francisco's absence.
