Georgia Tech. The freak of college football. A triple option flexbone offense that few teams are built to defend (are any?). An uncanny WR pipeline that now starts with Calvin Johnson leading to Demaryius Thomas to Stephen Hill to...nobody knows. And I mean nobody. Tech's leading returning reception leader is Tony Zenon, a RB with three catches last year.
2012 Program Preview - Georgia Tech

It's difficult to recruit well since most players don't want to play in that system, but they've produced solid talents nearly every year,. I should note though that 2010 was a down year with just RB Anthony Allen as the lone draftee.
Still, there are a half dozen prospects I’ve identified at this point that look to be drafted or just miss out.
After the jump, the prospects worth noting as well as some games and matchups to pencil into your calendar.

Summary
Draft boards won’t do this team justice. To be blunt, they’re nearly impossible to predict. To start 6-0 and finish 2-5, you’re talking about a volatile team. Heck, their 2010 campaign was non-understandable. With this year’s schedule, I don’t know what to expect. I’m just eager to see how it plays out.
Key games
Virginia Tech (away) - Week 1 (Mon., Sept. 3 - 8 p.m. ET, ESPN)
Some unofficial Monday Night Football to kickoff the football year. Two days ahead of the first NFL contest, the Yellow Jackets and Hokies open the college slate in what should be a very enjoyable game.
Georgia (away) - Week 13 (Sat., Nov. 24 - TBD)
Have an impossible team to decipher? Take the first and last games. Hokies to open, Bulldogs to close. Both on the road. Both popular divisional champs in their respective conferences. To boot, “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” is the best name for a rivalry game in any sport between two teams ever. EVER.
Key matchups
LB Qauyshawn Nealy v. Virginia RB Kevin Parks, Jr., Week 3 - Sat., Sept. 15
A sophomore face-off between quirky Ga. Tech and a rapidly improving Virgina program under Mike London (underrecruiting, BTW). Parks flashed skill at times, including the bowl game in which they were overmatched against a post-Cam Newton Auburn team.
RBs David Sims & Orwin Smith v. Georgia run defense, Week 13 - Sat., Nov. 24
If this game does end up deciding Tech's eligibility for the ACC Championship, this is the key battle. Georgia QB Aaron Murray will likely be able to put up sufficient points to win this game. For the Jackets to stay in this, they're going to have to put some up themselves. In case you haven't seen a Georgia Tech game in the last half decade, they don't score much in the air. Hell, they only throw it a dozen times a game. Meanwhile, they're running the ball 60 times a game pissing opponents off because this offense is stupid and it works a lot and why don't you just play normal football like the rest of us.
