Joseph Randle | RB | Oklahoma State, junior | 6-1, 190 pounds
Joseph Randle 2013 NFL Draft scouting notes

2011 Stats: 208 attempts, 1216 yards, 5.8 yards per carry, 24 touchdowns
Games Watched: Texas A&M, Missouri, Oklahoma, Baylor
First Word: Stuck in a pass-happy offense that featured 2012 first round picks Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon, Joseph Randle helped balance the Oklahoma State offense, rushing for over 1,200 yards and 24 touchdowns. He is a tough runner between the tackles with outstanding vision. Defenders have a tough time bring Randle down due to his shiftiness and quick cuts. He is also deceptively strong, bouncing off tackles with regularity last season. Randle will also have the potential to play on third downs at the next level with his talents as a blocker and a pass-catcher. This season, the offense will likely run through Randle, so he will need to prove he is capable of that type of pressure and workload.
Postives
- Randle has outstanding vision. He constantly finds cut-back lanes, using his quick lateral movement and speed to get up field in a hurry.
- Despite being a bit light at 191 pounds, Randle is a relentless inside runner. He keeps his feet moving and fights through tackles. He always seems to be falling forward.
- Randle will be an asset in the passing game. He is a reliable pass blocker and has solid hands out of the backfield. Dangerous in the open field.
- Doesn't hesitate and shows excellent burst to get through holes.
- Nose for the endzone. His 24 touchdowns speak volumes for his red zone potential.
Negatives
- Randle is a bit skinny. He could stand to bulk up a bit to be able to hold up in the NFL.
- Doesn't appear to have elite, game-breaking speed. He is fast, but not overly so.
- Will need to prove he can hold up as the leader of Oklahoma State's offense. Not saying he can't do it, but it's something to watch develop in the upcoming season.
