Better for the Cubs that Dempster has lat tightness instead of, say, shoulder tightness, or elbow tightness. But while this injury could conceivably have come at a worse time, it does still come at a very bad time, as far as Dempster’s trade value is concerned. In any move, he’s now likely to bring less back than he would have otherwise, either because he’ll get moved later in the season, because other teams will be more wary, or both.
