Time to Go Under the Lights at Kentucky: The Feed The Children 300 Preview

Getty Images for NASCAR

Not gonna lie, I typed Feed the Childress 300 at first.

It’s time again for some night racing, Nationwide Style. The points race has been heating up and we now know that Ricky Stenhouse will no longer be a Nationwide Driver next year. Stenhouse will be replaced by Trevor Bayne full time next season as Stenhouse moves to the Sprint Cup Series to replace my homestate driver Matt Kenseth. This is anything but a lame duck year for Stenhouse though as he remains a serious threat to win the Championship.

45 teams are entered, the #20 is not one of them.

Teams to watch this week include:

  • #6- The pressure is off for Stenhouse who now knows where he will be next year. Let’s see if this changes his driving style.
  • #12- Hornish is another driver looking for a place to call home. Penske is moving to Ford next year and there is a good chance that Hornish will be in a Mustang next year for Roger, but Sam wants to return to the Sprint Cup Series and a good year in Nationwide could be enough to move him back up.
  • #36- Ryan Blaney returns this week, but must qualify on time. Blaney joins a growing list of available young talent.
  • #54- Kurt Busch wants to follow up a very successful Sonoma Cup race by bringing the Monster Toyota to victory lane.
  • #99- Kenny Wallace makes another start. Wallace may be on his final run in Nascar.

Join us live this Saturday night for the Feed the Children 300! Tune in at 7pm eastern on ESPN2. Enjoy!
