The NFL's Supplemental Draft has its first player this year and it's TCU running back Ed Wesley. The senior left the team in March due to family reasons. Now Adam Caplan of of XM Satellite radio is reporting Wesley is in the supplemental draft:

Former TCU RB Ed Wesley is entering the #NFL Supplemental Draft, according to his agent, Jordan Woy.

As Caplan points out, the Supplemental Draft is schedule for July 12 and it could have as many as 10 players. The others could be revealed next week.
At TCU, Wesley was part of a three-back rotation that also includes Matthew Tucker and Waymon James. Each ran for more than 700 yards last. Tucker was second on the team with 726 yards. Arguably his best game last season came against San Diego State when he carried the ball 24 times for 146 yards. Wesley missed three games last season with a shoulder injury.
For his career, Wesley ran for 2,457 yards on 387 attempts, a 6.3 average. In 2010 he scored 11 touchdowns. In 2009, he was named Mountain West freshman of the year. He also had 22 receptions for 314 yards and three touchdowns at TCU.
One has to wonder if Wesley will be joined in the Supplemental Draft by former teammate Tanner Brock. The linebacker was a rising star on the TCU defense but missed most of 2011 due to injury. He was also arrested in a drug bust. He was reportedly transferring to UTEP, but there has been no official word.
