The Jacksonville Jaguars generally stay away from guys with legal trouble, but Gene Smith and company strayed from that trend for Justin Blackmon, who is expected to boost a dismal passing game.
Jaguars receiver Justin Blackmon arrested for second DUI amid contract negotiations

Blackmon rewarded that leap of faith by getting arrested for a DUI a little over a month after the Jaguars traded up to take him No. 5 overall. Blackmon was arrested for aggravated DUI, which is given when the driver’s blood alcohol content is over .15, according to the Oklahoman. This is his second alcohol related offense.
The Jaguars have yet to sign their first round pick, and this will definitely throw an interesting twist into the negotiations. Smith treads carefully in matters like this, and Blackmon’s most recent arrest could cause interesting bonus payout discussion, as Andrew Brandt pointed out.
While some are going to kill Blackmon for this, and it is a completely idiotic move, there is still plenty of time for him to mature and learn from his mistakes. But if he continues his current pattern of behavior, Blackmon will seriously hurt his chances of having a successful NFL career.
Michael Floyd was considered to be a huge character concern due to his alcohol-related trouble, and plenty of other prospects were dropped down boards due to trouble with the law, but it's Blackmon who is the first noteworthy player to slip up with the law. It shouldn't come as a huge shock given his history.
Why can’t these guys find a sober ride home?
