Thinning The Herd

On May 25, Grant Brisbee wrote about the curiously winless Doug Fister, Ryan Dempster, and Cliff Lee.

↵Fister failed to win on May 28, but was mediocre. Dempster and Lee entered scheduled Tuesday starts still winless.

↵I’ll get ahead of myself, but Dempster will probably win, as the Cubs are leading the Brewers 8-0. Dempster took a perfect game into the sixth.

↵Lee lost to the Dodgers, falling to 0-3. He allowed two runs in 7⅔ innings, striking out 12.
