How long will it take for Tebow to start in New York?

How long will it take for Tim Tebow to be the man in New York? That is what I would like to hear from you guys here at Mocking the Draft. Do you believe Sanchez can make it the entire year?

We have been hearing over and over that Mark Sanchez is the starting quarterback in New York. While I want to believe that, I honestly believe that the Jets fans will not allow him to have a bad game. Sanchez has had some pretty rough games as a starter, and at times last year he was getting tons of blame from the media as well as the fans. We all know that Tebow is a fan of the media especially ESPN’s own Skip Bayless. We have all seen the remix of all I do is win on youtube, where someone made a video of Skip Bayless’ endless love for the Christian quarterback. Well I kind of agree with Skip Bayless when it comes to this situation.

Tim Tebow - “All He Does Is Win” (via ESPN1stTake)

Last year Mark Sanchez ranked 28 in passing percentage with a 56.7 percent through the season and was the lowest Quarterback who started the entire season. Guys lower than him were Curtis Painter, Christian Ponder, Sam Bradford, Blaine Gabbert and Tim Tebow. Tebow was last in the league with a lousy 46.5 percent. He was the only QB not in the 50 percent range, but we all know that Tebow is more of a running Quarterback than a passer. So although he didn’t have a good passing percentage, Tebow did run well. Check out these stats.

Did you know that Tim Tebow had more rushing yards than star runningbacks Darren McFadden, Ahmad Bradshaw, Felix Jones, Darren Sproles and Roy Helu. Tebow was drafted as a runner, in my opinion, he was a good runner at the University of Florida. Tebow finished the season with 660 yards and 6 touchdowns rushing the ball. He had 1729 passing yards where he threw 12 touchdowns and had half as many interceptions with 6. Tebow was referenced by Bayless as a "Winner" well technically he is in fact a winner. Out of 14 games Tebow played in last year the team won 8 games. One if fact was a playoff win against the Steelers in overtime where Tebow hit Demaryius Thomas in stride for a game winner.

Tebow might not be a gun slinger, he might not be a great pocket passer, but he does play with tons of emotion. I’m not taking anything away from Sanchez, but personally I feel his days in New York are numbered. I don’t think Sanchez will help the team early in the season. Rex Ryan wants to run the ball and run it down people’s throats. If you want to run the ball, and pound it, why not have one of the best running quarterbacks in the game help you out in your goal. I don’t know if Sanchez will be able to finish the season as the starter, but if he does, he would earn tons of praise from me.

So my biggest question is what do the rest of the NFL fans think? Will Tebow replace Sanchez early? Will it be later in the season? How many of you all believe that the Jets traded for Tebow to sit him on the bench? Answer the poll at the bottom and leave a comment in the section below.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.
