Dodgers Pull Out Of Carlos Lee Trade

Over the weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers reached a trade agreement with the Houston Astros concerning long-time Astro and Texas native Carlos Lee. The details were all taken care of; at that point, it was up to Lee, who had limited trade protection. Lee wasn’t wild about leaving Houston, and ultimately, the Dodgers walked away.

Ken Rosenthal added that the Dodgers pulled out in respond to Lee’s tepid enthusiasm. Lee didn’t give a final “no”, but the Dodgers didn’t want to wait around any longer after already having waited as long as they did.

Considering that Lee has just a 104 OPS+ over the last three seasons and is now 36 years old, one might say he wasn’t the right upgrade for the Dodgers anyway. They’ll turn their sights elsewhere as they look to pick up a bat to help revive a struggling offense.
